"Each summer, our girls trip brings us to Savannah for a weekend of fun and fellowship and the highlight is always the Saturday morning photo shoot with Angela. I’m sure managing a group of 20 ladies is a challenge, but she always does it with a smile! Angela does an amazing job of picking the most beautiful backdrops for each shot. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and friendly demeanor make working with her a pleasure.” - Jen Price

"Angela is a talented photographer who connects with her subjects on a personal level and brings out the candor and authenticity of who they really are. She can see beauty in the ordinary and capture it in an extraordinary way and all while laughing and being as sweet as she can be. I love shooting with her and hope to continue to have a "Savannah Girls" shoot with her until I am old and gray!” - Remi Kent

Why We Love Georgetown

The state of Georgia is like a quilt patched together with cities of all shapes and sizes. However, the smallest of all, Georgetown, packs a big personality. Located in Quitman County, Georgetown is right at the state line between Alabama and Georgia, next to the Walter F. George Lake. It is the county’s only incorporated municipality. Measuring only 3.9 square miles (1.2 square miles of which is water), it is home to just 2,513 residents and offers a quaint and personal small-town feel.

Settled in the early 1830’s, Georgetown was originally called Tobanana after a nearby creek before it was incorporated in 1959 and renamed after the historic neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington, D.C. In the early 1900’s, Georgetown was almost completely destroyed in a fire that burned everything but a post office and three houses

Visitors in Georgetown can access significant historical sites such as Georgetown City Hall and the original Georgetown Post Office. The Old Quitman County Jail and its 12-inch thick brick walls is on the National Register of Historic Places. Another significant site is the Quitman County Courthouse, which was designed by local architect T. Firth Lockwood, Jr. and constructed in 1939 to replace the original courthouse that had burned down. The 1939 courthouse is a stripped classical style, one-story brick building. Another tourist favorite is the Harrison-Brannon-McKenzie antebellum cottage.

There are plenty of activities for Georgetown visitors and locals alike. Georgetown is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with plenty of hunting, fishing opportunities. The Lake Walter F. George Wildlife Management Area is 1200 acres of land and offers some of the most beautiful sights of nature in the area. Visitors can go boating, canoeing, river fishing, and more. During the 1970’s and 80’s, Georgetown was proud to be the only county in Georgia to employ a female ranger, Carolyn Sanders Davis, by the Georgia Forest Commission. She retired in 1989 as the last person to ever “man” the tower.

Agriculture is an important part of life in Georgetown. Georgetown agriculture generates over $8 million in farm gate value. Timber sales account for 40 percent of net value, while row crops of hay, peanuts, and cotton make up another 25 percent.

Georgetown may be small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in history, small-town charm, and beautiful views. This town is a must-see for anyone looking to take advantage of everything the state of Georgia has to offer.
